Carroll's Fresh Juice Recipe

In addition to wheatgrass juice, I like to start off my day with a fresh homemade juice. I've taken a photo of all the ingredients I regularly use. Can you guess which ingredient I use that I have yet to see in a juice bar?

The answer is peppermint. Peppermint is a hybrid of watermint and spearmint. It can have health benefits for irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), nausea, skin conditions, headaches, cold, and flu. Peppermint is also considered anti- inflammatory. It's a great addition to a fresh juice, especially if you are fighting inflammation. I have included the entire ingredient list below.

Carroll's Fresh Juice Recipe

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 lbs Carrots

  • 4 Celery stalks

  • 1 Lemon

  • 1 Lime

  • 2 Apples

  • Thumb sized piece of ginger root

  • 4 Turmeric roots

  • 1/2 bunch Kale

  • 1/2 bunch cilantro

  • 1 Parsley bunch

  • 1 Beet

  • 1 Cucumber, peeled

  • Handful of peppermint leaves

DIRECTIONS

  1. Juice all the above ingredients.

  2. Store juice in mason jars in the fridge.

  3. Drink each morning.

I try to make fresh juice twice a week. The citric acid in the lemon and lime keep the juice from oxidizing. So it’s good for about 3 days in the fridge.

Happy juicing!
